I graduated from Nanyang Business School in the midst of a financial meltdown and was fortunate to still secure a role upon graduation. Having majored in Human Resource Consulting, I was keen to apply what I have learnt and hence started out in an International Firm as a HR Management Trainee. Looking back, the cross-cultural people interactions and dynamic projects provided a fantastic learning platform for me both as a professional and an individual.
I learned that life is never linear. We are always a work in progress, discovering more about ourselves and the world each day. I also see work as an extension of who we are and that our beliefs fuel our motivation towards various career pathways. In my decade long of corporate work, I have made several seemingly unconventional career moves, from Human Resources to Executive Search and now Career Services. Aside from the portfolio of skillsets acquired, each role move has helped me to further align my values, talents with the impact I aspire to contribute at work. In the current role as a Career Services Programme Manager, I hope to play a part in facilitating and equipping Yale-NUS students in their pursuit of a meaningful career.
