Hello! I am Suyeon Lee from South Korea. I lived there my entire life except for the three years I spent in Shanghai. My academic interest lies in gender equality and refugee issues around the globe. I usually spend my free time swimming and taking long bus rides around Singapore.
Before coming to Yale-NUS, I took a gap year and traveled different parts of the world: spending a month in rural areas of Mozambique and three months at a refugee camp in Samos, Greece. These experiences made me realize how important experiential learning is, and I am happy that I can continue pursuing it in Yale-NUS, thanks to CIPE. As a CIPE SAC member, I hope to make our programs more accessible to fellow students so that they can embrace the value of experiential learning and make the most out of the wonderful opportunities CIPE has to offer.
