Fields of Study

The Sorbonne’s classes all fall under the Arts and Humanities field. A complete list of courses can be found here.

Language of Instruction

Courses are offered exclusively in French. B-2 language proficiency is recommended.

Full Course Load (Required Number of Credits)


Students are required to take the full course load at the host institution, which will be equivalent to 20 MCs upon successful completion of credit transfer procedures back at Yale-NUS College.

Relevant Academic Information

The Sorbonne is grouped as part of a cluster which also includes the Pierre and Marie Curie University, the leading French scientific and medical university. Students interested in science courses should talk with CIPE about opportunities for cross registration.

Academic Calendar 

Semester 1: End September to end January (students can arrange to depart in time to be back in Singapore for the start of Sem 1)
Semester 2: Early February to Mid June
