The College UC Programme is offered by Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile (“UC”) which, founded in 1888, is one of the oldest universities in Chile and is the top university in Latin America according to the 2014 QS rankings.
The university has 16 faculties on four campuses throughout Santiago. The four campuses house 21,000 undergraduate and graduate students, many from across Latin America and beyond.
Yale-NUS students will participate in the College UC programme, a liberal arts pathway that involves about 2,000 students within the larger university. Students select one of three focus areas (Humanities, Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences) and can choose classes from the school’s extensive list of 40+ majors and 90+minors.

Fields of Study
Yale-NUS students can take classes within College UC and throughout the university.
Language of Instruction
Students can take courses in English and in Spanish, as well as Spanish language classes. In addition, students must have taken at least 4 semester of university-level Spanish instruction before starting the programme. For more information on studying Spanish at UC, click here.
Full Course Load (Required Number of Credits)
40 – 50 credits
Students are required to take the full course load at the host institution, which will be equivalent to 20 MCs upon successful completion of credit transfer procedures back at Yale-NUS College.
