Sophia University is a private Jesuit research university in Japan, located near Yotsuaya Station in an area of Tokyo’s Chiyoda Ward. It is ranked as one of the top private universities in Japan, with a wide range of English course offerings. It takes its name from Sophia meaning “wisdom”, and has a strong focus on the liberal arts and global engagement. Sophia University also offers students dedicated Japanese language instruction. The campus hosts around 12,000 full-time students.

Students are required to take the full course load at the host institution, which will be equivalent to 20 MCs upon successful completion of credit transfer procedures back at Yale-NUS College.
