University College London was founded in 1826 and became the first university in England to admit female students on equal terms with men in 1878. The university has 36,000 students from 150 countries.
University College London Arts and Sciences (BASC) offers a Liberal Arts course and was launched in 2012. Students take courses from varying departments and have an exclusive Common Room to share ideas and engage in debate.

*New: Yale-NUS students must take two courses from UCL Arts and Sciences and can take up to two courses from other UCL faculties, subject to vacancies and prerequisites.

*New: Yale-NUS students who go in our semester one or two will do 4 courses and transfer 20 MCs in either semester. This is unlike our policy of 14 MCs for one trimester because in UCL BASC, there is no formal teaching in their third term so a full year’s work load is quite evenly divided between the first and second term.
